To achieve this, we ask that everyone follows these Community Guidelines. By using Swept Dating, you agree to uphold these standards. If you see any behavior that goes against these guidelines, please let us know so we can address it promptly.
Profile Guidelines
Age: You must be at least 18 years of age to use our platform. Creating a profile that does not accurately reflect your true age is not allowed. We reserve the right to ask you for photo identification to verify your age, and we will block anyone from the platform that is determined to be underage.
Profile Photos: We sometimes understand you want to dip your toes before you dive in. This is why we do not require a photo to begin using our platform. However, our data shows you will not receive as many views, likes, or conversations from other users without at least one photo. We highly recommend you upload at least one photo during onboarding to start off on the right foot.
- Profile photos that are heavy distorted, not clear, exaggerated, manipulated, digital effects, or other change to the photo, where we cannot clearly distinguish you in the photo are not permitted.
- Any text, memes, overlays, watermarks, icons, symbols, frames, or other manipulation are not permitted.
- Hateful symbols, nudity, sexual content involving minors, or any images that promote violence or illegal activities are not permitted.
- Photos of children on their own, or unclothed children are not permitted.
- Profile photos that show any significant level of nudity, weapons, violence, profanity, are not permitted.
- Only use photos of yourself or those you have permission to share. Impersonating another person or celebrity is not permitted.
Username: You may choose any username, however please be aware your username will be analyzed for profanity, violence, and may prevent you from activating your profile. Please keep this in mind when creating a username and password. NOTE: We recommend using Apple, Google, or Facebook authentication to create your login account to avoid running into a mistake selecting a username that violates our profile guidelines.
First (Given) and Last (Family) Name: We ask that you use your real first and last name when creating your account. We reserve the right to ask you for photo identification to verify your name, and we reserve the right to block anyone from the platform that is determined to be using an alias.
Preferred Name: Your preferred name will be shown to users and allows you to shorten your given name, use a nickname, or initials. This name is subject to our safety checks, and cannot contain phone numbers, emails, manipulations of text to denote a way to contact you, nor may it infer anything other than what you prefer to be called day to day.
Honesty and Accuracy: Your profile should represent who you are. Do not mislead others by using fake names, photos, or false personal details.
Content and Conduct Guidelines
Content shared on Swept shapes our community’s culture. We ask that all photos, videos, and messages reflect the values of respect and sensitivity. These rules help ensure that Swept remains a platform where everyone feels comfortable and seen. The way we interact with each other defines our community. Swept is committed to promoting positive, respectful communication. Below are the expectations for how we conduct ourselves to maintain a harmonious environment for all users:
Nudity and Sexually Explicit Activities
Swept Dating is committed to maintaining a respectful environment. We strictly prohibit the display of nudity, sexually explicit content, or vulgarity in profiles or messages. Additionally, any attempt to engage in or solicit commercial sexual services, including the sale or promotion of adult content, is not allowed. Violators will face immediate action.
Bullying and Abusive Conduct
At Swept, we foster kind connections. We have zero tolerance for any form of harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior. This includes but is not limited to belittling comments, insults, intimidation, unsolicited remarks on appearance, emotional abuse, blackmail, persistent unwanted contact, or promoting violence. Such behavior will result in sanctions, up to and including permanent bans.
Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Swept Dating has an absolute zero-tolerance policy for child sexual exploitation or abuse. No content that sexualizes or endangers minors (real or fictional) is allowed. This includes any depiction or discussion of sexual activities involving anyone under 18. Uploading, sharing, or soliciting such content will lead to immediate reporting to law enforcement and permanent exclusion from our platform.
Commercial and Promotional Activity
Swept Dating is not a platform for business transactions. Engaging in unsolicited commercial or promotional activities is prohibited. This includes spam, advertising other services, or using our platform to sell products or services.
Controlled Goods and Substances
We do not permit the use of our platform for transactions involving illegal drugs, controlled substances, or their paraphernalia. This also extends to the misuse of legal substances like alcohol or prescription drugs for nonmedical purposes.
Dangerous Organizations and Individuals
We do not allow individuals or groups known for promoting violence, terrorism, or dangerous ideologies to use Swept Dating. Profiles linked to such entities will be removed immediately.
Identity-Based Hate
Swept Dating is dedicated to ensuring we maintain an inclusive and diverse community of users. We prohibit any content or actions that promote hate, discrimination, or contempt towards individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, health condition, or religion.
Inauthentic Profiles
Authenticity is key. Creating fake profiles, catfishing, or misrepresenting personal details like name, age, gender, or location is strictly forbidden. All profiles must be genuine to maintain trust within our community.
Physical and Sexual Violence
Swept Dating has no tolerance for threats or acts of physical or sexual violence. This includes physical stalking, aiding human trafficking, or any form of sexual assault. All such activities will result in severe consequences, including permanent bans and reporting to authorities.
Scams and Theft
Any attempt to defraud or scam other users out of money or possessions is prohibited. This includes asking for financial assistance under false pretenses or pretending romantic intentions to exploit others financially.
Sexual Harassment
We do not tolerate sexual harassment, which includes cyber-flashing, unsolicited sexual comments or images, or sharing intimate images without consent. Such actions will be met with strict disciplinary measures.
Spam
Spamming, including sending bulk unsolicited messages or creating multiple accounts to harass or mislead, is not allowed on Swept Dating.
Suicide and Self-Injury Promotion
While we encourage open conversations about mental health, we do not permit content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs on self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Supportive discussions are welcome, but harmful content is strictly banned.
Violent and Graphic Content
Content that is violent, gory, or overly graphic is not permitted. This includes descriptions or depictions of violence in usernames, photos showing blood or injury, or images of weapons, except in contexts of law enforcement or military service.
Account Dormancy
Swept Dating makes connecting with others easy and enjoyable, accessible right from your mobile device. Feel free to engage with our app at your leisure. However, if you haven’t logged into your Swept account for over two years, we might assume you’ve found your match and may delete your account (and data) due to inactivity. You will be notified via e-mail before any action is taken.
Manipulation of Our Platform
At Swept Dating, we aim to cultivate real, meaningful connections. Therefore, any attempt to manipulate our system through automation, scripts, or any other means to artificially boost connections, matches, or engagement is strictly forbidden. Such actions undermine the integrity of our platform and will result in immediate account suspension and/or termination.
Safety Reporting
Safety is paramount. We employ both human moderators and automated systems to vigilantly monitor accounts and interactions for violations of our Community Guidelines (this document), Terms of Service.
You, our members, are essential to maintaining this safe environment by reporting any concerning behavior or content. If you experience anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, we urge you to end your conversation(s), block, and/or report the individual. You may do this through the App or through our Contact form.
However, please understand that simply disagreeing with or disliking someone or their content isn’t grounds for reporting. We may penalize members who misuse the reporting feature by submitting false or inappropriate reports.
Enforcement Policy
Compliance with Swept Dating’s Community Guidelines is mandatory for all users. Behavior that contravenes our guidelines, core values, or potentially harms Swept Dating or its users will lead to enforcement actions, which might include:
- Removal of offending content
- Issuing a warning
- Temporary or permanent suspension from Swept or related services
When deciding on the appropriate action, we evaluate multiple factors.
In cases where the law might have been broken, we will cooperate with law enforcement for criminal investigations.
Additionally, your conduct outside Swept Dating can impact your account status. If we become aware of harmful actions between members during meetups, via messages, or past behaviors that reflect poorly on your character, we may treat these as violations of our platform rules, even if they occurred off-app.
